What is Shop Pay?
Shop Pay is an accelerated checkout option designed to enhance your shopping experience. It allows you to save your email address, credit card, and shipping and billing information, making the checkout process faster and more convenient.
What are Shop Pay Installments?
Shop Pay Installments offer you the option to pay for your order gradually (in installments) at checkout. Orders from $35 USD to $20,000 USD are eligible for installments payments. You must be 18 or older to use this option.
How Does it Work?
- Add items to your cart.
- Check out with Shop Pay.
- Choose the option to pay in installments.
Your first payment is due at checkout and the next payments are automatically charged biweekly or monthly. Don't worry, you'll get an email reminder before each payment to remind you.
Installment Options:
- Two, biweekly, interest-free payments, for orders from $35 USD to $50 USD.
- Four, biweekly, interest-free payments, for orders from 50 USD to 999.99 USD.
- Monthly payments for orders from $150 USD to $20,000 USD. Monthly installment orders are interest-bearing from 6 to 36% APR, and may be paid in three, six, or twelve months depending on the purchase amount.
How do Refunds Work?
If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:
- A smaller payment balance on the final payment.
- Less future payments on the remaining loan balance.
If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original payment method. If you request a refund for an order you’ve made monthly payments for, then your paid interest isn't refunded (interest is the cost of borrowing, and isn't refundable).
Will Using Shop Pay Installments Affect my Credit Score?
If you choose to pay for your order in biweekly installments, then your credit score isn't impacted.
If you choose to pay for your order in monthly payments, and don’t make the payments on time, then your credit score might be affected. Only monthly payment options might impact your credit score.
What Payment Methods are Accepted?
Shop Pay Installments is available for purchases made using a credit and debit card, however: Prepaid debit cards, Capital One cards and Chase credit cards aren't accepted. If you choose a monthly payment option, you can only pay with a debit card.
What Happens if I Miss an Installment Payment?
There are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment. However, partial payments or late payments might impact your credit score, or your eligibility to use Shop Pay Installments in the future. If you have questions about a missed installment payment, then you can contact Affirm support for assistance.
